Millions of newly insured Americans are being set up to LOSE their HEALTHCARE COVERAGE because democrats and other non-conservatives don't think it's worth their time to vote.
Because Republicans were able to work a clause into Obamacare that ultimately left it up to each state to decide whether or not they would participate, many Republicans who are running against Democrats in state elections have vowed to REPEAL their state's participation if they are elected, leaving millions of regular people, like you and me, without any access to affordable healthcare.
It is DISGUSTING that the Republicans want to deny or repeal healthcare without offering anything in return. No alternatives. Just NO HEALTHCARE.
And why should THEY care? No, really, why should they? They are only voting down healthcare for those who would otherwise have no way to get any. You don't hear any one in Congress ranting and raving that THEIR health coverage is 'a bad idea'.
Oh yeah, and tell me again WHY Obamacare is "such a bad idea" because all the reasons Republicans have so far are either so vague and ambiguous that it prevents any serious address of the issue, or so hateful that you start to wonder who they hate more - a black man for being president, or their own constituents for thinking that access to good healthcare isn't only for members of congress.
What happened to being "pro-life?"
Or is that rhetoric reserved only for those who are not born?
What's the point in forcing babies to be born if they can't get the care they need to lead a happy, healthy life?
Quality of Life has never been an issue Republicans have been willing to get behind. Let's face it, if they cared about anyone else's quality of life, they would insist that we all get the same healthcare coverage Congress gets. But that's not going to happen.
The Republicans run a tight ship. If you only watch one channel for news you may not notice. But if you switch channels at all or get your news from more than one source you've probably noticed that every person across all media describe certain events using the exact same wording. Everyone. I don't know how early that call must come in, but every single morning, no matter how much the buzzwords changed overnight, all the republican pundits are all using the exact same phrasing in response to certain news stories. Everyone in lockstep.
This strategy is used to shape public opinion. They are telling us what to think and HOW TO FEEL about practically everything from immigration to vaccination to gun control.
It's definitely that way with our healthcare. They keep saying "it will never work" and "it's a bad deal for the American people" and "it costs too much". Respectively, those "reasons" are vague; vague and ridiculous; and vague, ridiculous and insulting.
Despite their complaints, Republicans, have yet to bring anything constructive to the table.
No ideas for how we can make it work better.
No explanation of how guaranteed healthcare could possibly be "bad" for Americans.
No suggestions for better ways to fund Obamacare.
And no alternatives. They must REALLY not want all of us Little People to have any care because now they are trying to shut down Planned Parenthood. They even released bogus footage of Planned Parenthood supposedly doing morally dubious things. It was revealed that this evidence was false, yet it seems Republicans have doubled their effort since then to get Planned Parenthood unfunded, effectively shutting down quality healthcare to millions of people.
Why? Shutting down Planned Parenthood doesn't hurt President Obama. It hurts millions of regular folk like you and me.
Please, everyone, get out and vote whenever you have the chance. It could mean the difference between life and death for someone you know - maybe even you.

Hey Coors, bring back Zima!
It's been gone too long.
Bring Zima back to America! There's a new generation out there that isn't so homophobic and intolerant as the previous generation, and they want a drink that they can feel good about. Zima is that drink. It's light, crisp, and refreshing.
And, no, Smirnoff Ice is NOT the same thing. Not even close. Smirnoff Ice is tastes like its full of syrupy sugar. So does Mike's Hard Lemonade. They'll both make a person FAT and give them DIABETES before they ever catch a buzz from drinking these Kool Aid wanna-bes.
Zima doesn't make you fat. I always drank Zima and I was always skinny - 5 foot 5 inches, 127 pounds. Then they discontinued Zima in the states. I searched and searched for something comparable because I like to drink, but I hate beer. I haven't changed my eating habits at all and now I'm overweight - from drinking drinks like Mike's Harder Lemonade and stupid Smirnoff Ice.
Bring Back Zima. It's what America needs.

I care about politics.
I realize that I'm NOT in the norm. I am painfully aware of how little most of my fellow Americans care about politics.
It's appalling, really, when you consider the horrors endured by people around the world because they do not have a right to vote . People from all over the world give their lives year in and year out, just to feel like they have a say in the affairs of their country - and we just throw it away. We already fought for it!! And won!! How ungrateful we must seem to the old, restless spirits that risked everything to fight for our rights which we now take for granted.
Too many people watch FOX News to get their information. They feel smug about what they've "learned". Lucky for them, their perspective has been adjusted so that they feel justified looking down on all those who do not conform to the opinions they hear from Fox's "news"casters. In fact, Fox's "news"casters deliver the news with such bias, that they leave little room for their viewers to think for themselves. They do not deliver any "news" objectively. They always use that "rumor" tone of voice that infers to the listener how they should feel about what they've just heard. FoxNews viewers tend to be VERY defensive about how they feel about these issues in particular. I think its because Fox's tone of voice also conveys a sense that anyone who sees an issue differently, should feel unAmerican and be shamed to hell. Unfortunately, most of their "reasons" for their positions on certain issues just don't hold up to scrutiny, and even die-hard loyal viewers have difficulty explaining their reasoning because it just doesn't sound as convincing unless it's in that disapproving rumor tone of voice. So they get defensive. And who can blame them? I mean, it's embarrassing when you think you know what you are talking about, until you hear how stupid it sounds when you say it out loud.
If you like to watch FoxNews, try this: Turn off the sound and turn on the captions. That way you can get their news, but without the biased tone of voice. And just see if you end up with a different opinion than what they suggest.

REVIEW: Neutrogena Micro Mist Sunless Tanning Spray
My quest to find the best sunless tanning spray continues!
REVIEW: Neutrogena's Micro Mist Airbrush Sunless Tanning Spray - Deep Color
COST: around $15 (at my local Rite-Aid)
CONCLUSION: Not Worth It.
This one was a little more pricey than the other sunless tanning products, but Neutrogena has a good reputation with skin care products, so I figured it would probably be worth it. You know, "you get what you pay for," right?
I opted for the "Deep" shade, which claims to make you 3 shades darker. The front of the can says: "ultra-light, fine mist goes on evenly... for an all-over flawless tan" and "no-rub application".
What a load of crap.
I have spent literally ALL MORNING applying this sunless tanner and I barely notice any change at all. This product has to be applied rather heavily if you want to see ANY results. This stuff is useless when applied "in a fine light mist.".
But a heavy application makes it harder to get an even tan. It also means there's a potential for drips, so you DO have to rub to blend in after all. Luckily, it dries very quickly - even when its applied in a thick layer. We're talking 5-10 minutes, tops.
.But even with the heavier application, there's not much change in color. I've applied about 7 coats so far this morning and I still look unacceptably white even for the middle of winter. Which it is not - it's September and its HOT outside. This product is useless to me. I live in California where you MUST be tan at least 10 months out of the year. People will think I'm sick or something!
Of course, like with all tanning sprays, I smell like I've used a fake tanning product, although its not as strong as some tanners I've tried in the past.
And, can I just say that the color seems a big orange-ier than I expected. For as long as sunless tanners have been on the market, you'd think the manufacturers would have at LEAST managed to improve the color by now.
Also, I do not like how it wears off. It looks like I have age spots on my legs! Embarrassing. I'm not old enough for those. Luckily, it's only temporary.
CONCLUSION: I'm more than a little disappointed, to be honest. Unfortunately, this product was a complete waste of time and money for me. It takes way too much product to achieve any noticeable change in color, which ends up looking too orange-y anyway. I won't buy this one again.

REVIEW: Renewal Sunless Tan Mist
My quest to find the best sunnless tanning product continues . . .
Renewal Sunless Tan Ultra-fine Airbrush Mist is Rite-Aid's version of Neutrogena's Sunless Tanning MicroMist, which was a pretty good product when I tried it many years ago. So I thought I'd try Rite-Aid's knock-off to see if it was comparable. I chose the Medium shade.
The Pros:
Renewal Sunless Tan was super easy to apply thanks to their spray-from-any-angle can. Also, as long as you keep the can moving while spraying to evenly distribute the mist, there's no need to rub it in or spread it around with your hands. In fact, my hands stayed perfectly clean. It dries quickly, so you can get dressed and get on with your day. Also, it did not rub off on my clothes or leave embarrassing streaks, like the L'oreal product did in my last review.
The Cons:
Color change was more subtle than I would have liked, so it will take more applications to achieve the desired shade on my skin, but its so quick and easy to use, I don't mind. It does have that familiar odor that seem to plague all sunless tanning products, although it was much fainter than others I have tried. Also, my legs seem very dry the next day, so make sure to apply lotion once its dried.
Overall, I like this product, but I will continue to try others until I find the perfect one.

REVIEW: Loreal New Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Serum
I haven't used self-tanners for a few years now, but I used to use them quite a bit. That's what you have to do if you don't have a tan in March in Southern California. Everyone is expected to always have a little color, no matter what time of year it is.
So, I hadn't been outside much and I was self-conscious about my legs showing so I grabbed one at Rite-Aid on my way to the check out line. Careless of me, I know.
Loreal's Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Serum is a throwback to the days when self-tanners first came on the market. They were awful back then. It took forever to dry, it smelled bad, it made the person smell bad the next day, it stained your clothes, and it left orange streaks in random places.
Sublime Bronze does all that except take forever to dry. Unfortunately, this product dries too fast to give the person a chance to blend it in.
The bottle says: "Streak-free". Not true.
It's very frustrating because you can't tell if there are streaks until the color shows up hours later. Just like back in the day.
Seriously, this is a horrible product. I will not buy it again.
